New Year, New You...Or Not

This is the time of year that people start making New Years resolutions. Whether its a diet, a plan to stop using foul language, changing your attitude or "cleaning up" your circle of friends, a lot of people use the end of one year as a good reason to make some life changes. I usually make some half-hearted attempt at changing something. I'll give up something or implement some random plan and it lasts all of 3 days! LOL Im not going to do that to myself in 2012. I'm going to Let Go and Let God! Any plan He has for me is much better than any plan I could make for myself!  Do what you know you CAN do. That would be my advice to anyone planning to come up with a resolution. If you didn't go through with the resolution after the first week of last year, what makes 2012 any different? Seriously. Be honest with yourself. Don't make some crazy plans you know you won't fulfill. Don't go to bed on December 31st and think you're going to wake up on Jan

Family, Fur and Football

Wow, Christmas has come and gone! It went by so quickly! I hope that everyone enjoyed their Christmas! I know I did! I spent the day with my family and that was the best gift I received! I don't get to see my family in New Orleans much, so I was definitely excited about seeing them for Christmas. We laughed, ate, exchanged gifts and did a little karaoke LOL. It was a good day!             Some of my fabulous gifts: Lots of studs, sequins, and leopard! I LOVE IT!            Sewing machine case and some fabric from my Auntie Randi & her family :-)                          Got my 1st Kiss under the mistletoe! (me & my goddaughter Reah)        Right after she opened her gifts, she told me she loved me and gave me a big hug/kiss!                                      My little cousin Jawayne and my sister Kelly  Of course I had to take the opportunity to have a fashion moment! I was praying to the Fashion Gods the entire week before that they hold off the bad weat

Holiday Fashion: Menswear

I usually don't pay much attention to men's fashion. Honestly, I thought it was dull. *shrugs*  However, recently someone asked me to help them with some menswear looks. I was hesitant at first, but then decided to do some research. It actually ended up taking up half of my day! I was excited by it! I was confused about where to start so I asked a male friend of mine (Thanks Josh!) for some suggestions and that ended up being a huge help. With his suggestions and some additional research on my own, I was able to put together about 10 or so looks. I looked at tons of retail websites, fashion magazine websites, and Googled images of celebrities. After several hours of research and putting looks together, I was pretty impressed with my work. *pats self on back* The looks are simple but fun and there are options for just about every kind of man!  I decided to do a post about it, just in case any males read this blog or if any of you ladies have men in your life that need a littl

Holiday Fashion

I love Christmas and New Year’s. It’s a season full of celebrating family, love, the season, and all of our blessings. It’s also a great fashion opportunity! Two chances within a week of each other to wear something extra special! And that doesn’t include the holiday parties that you may be invited to; which would mean additional extra special fashion moments! And who doesn’t love a good extra special fashion moment? I have been planning my Christmas look since Thanksgiving. I’m at the point where all I need are my accessories. I already have the actual outfit and shoes and I am very excited about it! No advanced pictures or big hints! But I will say this: I will be warm, on trend and sassy! LOL If you aren’t an early outfit planner, like me, then I am here to help with some wardrobe suggestions! Use this holiday season as a chance to step out of your comfort zone and have some fun! If you already live outside of the box then… keep doing that!  Here are some outfit ideas based on th
