Put Some Spring In Your Step

Even though it won’t officially be spring for another month, the warm weather we are experiencing is making everyone shed their winter wardrobe and step out in spring & summer friendly looks. I’m a little reluctant because I like to wait until the official first day of spring to bring out my sandals and shorts. However, I am already looking at various stores, websites, and catalogs for the latest spring and summer shoe styles. The new styles are tempting me to throw my boots and closed-toe shoes to the back of the closet and bring out my sandals! I would seriously go broke if I bought every pair of new shoes that I have loved recently. Fortunately, I am able to display some restraint and just love them from afar. Here are a few of the styles that I was tempted by and the websites/brands whose new spring/summer styles are worth checking out if you are updating your shoe collection!  This zig-zag heel is EVERYTHING! Makes what would otherwise be a basic black sandal, into a showsto

My Life Right Now

I am currently a month into my last semester as an undergrad! I just cannot stop thanking God enough for bringing me this far. There was a time that I did not want to return to college. Now, Im 3 months away from graduating! I cannot believe it. I got my cap and gown on Valentine's Day and nearly cried when I tried it on. Its all becoming real for me. I am going to be accomplishing one of my major goals soon. Thats nothing but God's work!  Also on Valentine's Day, I received a Valentine gift from my mom and my stepdad. My mom knocked on my door at midnight and when I opened it, there was a huge card and a gift sitting there. The next morning I found another card and some Valentine's M&Ms from my stepdad. Later in the day, my sister and I surprised my mom with her favorite cake and some lunch and surprised my stepdad with his favorite pie and a card. It was a great day! I felt extremely loved.  I am a 6 foot tall woman, so I hear the question "Ar

NYFW Fall 2012

Its fashion week in New York! They are currently holding tons of fashion shows and previews that are showcasing the trends for Fall 2012 Ready-To-Wear (they always show trends for the next season during the current season). The looks, colors, trends that we are seeing on the runways are early indicators of what we should see in stores once fall lines come out (around about early August). As someone that wishes they could put fashion in a tea cup and drink it every morning, I am absolutely excited about it all. I am on my phone or online constantly checking for photos or videos from the latest shows. Seriously, I’ve looked at photos/videos from over 30 shows in the last few days. You may call that crazy. I call it fun research. I don’t only look at the pictures or videos just to say that I did. I look at the trends. I take note of the things that I am seeing a lot of and how they differ or look similar to what we are wearing now. I like to know what is “in”. I like to be able to give a

Celebrities In Fashion

It seems like every week, another celebrity is coming out with a new perfume, clothing line, shoe line or anything else they can put their name on. As a fashion lover, I’m on the fence about whether I love this or not. I appreciate items from “real designers”, so things that celebrities “design” isn’t necessarily of high priority on my shopping list. However, there are some that put out really good products, whether they actually put any work into it is debatable. There are some that I hear they are putting out a perfume, shoe, or clothing line and I think “Child please, you slapped your name on that.” Others though, I at least try to give them a chance. Jessica Simpson, for example, is one of those that I actually gave her a shot. I love her shoe collection more than her singing. I could do without hearing her belt out another note, but I always check out her new shoes. Beyonce, on the other hand, I could listen to her music over and over, but that clothing line? I’ll pass. Jason Wu for Target

Every few months, Target enlists a high end designer to create a line that will be exclusively sold at their stores and in the price bracket for their target market. In the past, designers such as Rodarte, Zac Posen, and most recently (and some may say most infamously) Missoni . The latest designer to join this group is Jason Wu . You may not know his name, but you definitely have seen his work. He is the man responsible for designing First Lady Michelle Obama’s Inaugural Ball gown in 2008. Fast forward four years and Jason Wu is one of the top designers in the industry and his designs can be seen on many of Hollywood’s hottest entertainers. Now, his designs are available for those fashionistas that don’t have the ability to buy his higher end products; which could cost almost four times as much (or more) than what will be offered in a limited edition standalone collection at Target. The Jason Wu for Target collection may have a lower price tag but it has the same style aesthetic

Love and Fashion

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching yet again. Im excited. Not because of the “holiday”, but because that’s the day I can order my cap and gown for graduation! So I will definitely be smiling on that day!  I am not the one to ask if you want advice on what to do or where to go for a Valentine’s Day date. However, if you need help with your wardrobe, I am at your service! I can’t help you be romantic but I can help you look good while doing it! LOL Red Is the ‘go to” color for Valentine’s Day. Red equals love and hearts and whatnot. So naturally, I’m going to include a good bit of red options (outfits, shoes, beauty products, etc.). However,   I will include more options that aren’t red. Maybe 2012 is your year to mix it up on the “Most Romantic Day of The Year” .  Here are a few options for you ladies that want to stick with tradition and wear the "color of love". Red dresses are always sexy whether its Valentine's Day or not. You're sure to get your Sweetheart&
