My Christmas Gift To You...

I hope everyone has had a wonderful beginning to the Holiday season! I sure have! My Thanksgiving look came out just the way I had hoped and I was even able to help others with their looks as well.  Outfit Deets : Chambray Shirt (Target.. Less than $10!). Lock and Key Necklace (Victoria's Secret). Box Pleat Skirt (Boohoo.com. $16). Gold Cap Toe Pumps (Bakers. $25). Earrings (Versona. $4). Watch (Tradwr's Village. $5). Fedora (My sister's closet. Free. LOL)  My stepdad decided to interrupt my photoshoot...  We've gotten through Thanksgiving and Black Friday so now everyone is running around, crowding retail stores and streets/interstates trying to get their Christmas gift shopping completed. I started months ago so I'm down to my last couple of gifts and I get to focus on other things...like, what I'm going to wear on Christmas day. I was inspired by the iconic Gwen Stefani for my Christmas look this year. I found my inspiration a couple months ago so I already h...

Serve Food...and Good Fashion

Thanksgiving is just days away! Three days, if you're counting (I know I am). Everyone is preparing to gather with family and friends around a wonderful feast of their favorite foods while giving thanks for all of the blessings they have received this year. My New Orleans family is joining us in Baton Rouge this year and I am really excited to see the food they bring...I mean, to see them. :-) While food is EXTREMELY important for that glorious day, this is also an opportunity to put together an ensemble worthy of the tons of holiday pictures Im sure will be taken. Even though there are only a few short days left, thats still plenty of time to put together a great look. To help you with your last minute wardrobe decisions, here are a few looks Ive put together. These are perfect for relaxed/casual to dressy casual dinner plans.  Get inspired and get ready for the official start to another fantastically fashionable holiday season! Or go for the look thats the most comforta...

Okay....

Positive thoughts... Positive thoughts... I say to myself in a voice so low That only me & my troubled mind Can hear I then tell myself  If I repeat those two words enough Then my troubled mind will start to listen And the battle going on in there Will end The negativity will dissipate And I will be okay  I can hear the comforting sound that is  My mother's voice Telling me stop stressing because Everything will work out God will make it okay If only I was so certain... My heart pounds with my hope that all  Will be okay as my mother and The Father have promised But my troubled mind is an ocean of Pessimistic thoughts that come in Like tidal waves Between every hopeful beat of my heart My spirit is gasping for air  As tears flood my pain stricken face Any trace of my smile  Has been washed away And I am drowning in my own thoughts IT WILL BE OKAY! Maybe if I scream this time Then my troubled mind will hear me And ...

Wrote a Blog About It..Like To Read It? Here It Go....

*taps mic* Hello? Is this thing on?  As I was commenting on another bloggers post, I realized I hadn't clicked on my own profile in ages. When I did, I was slapped with the reality that I hadn't posted in almost a year and a half! I didn't realize it had been THAT long. So much has and hasn't happened since my last post in January 2013. This post will be a quick rundown of my life's events since then (in no particular order!): SHE SAID YES! Mom and Mr P FINALLY tied the knot! After many years together, they finally made it official and got married. I was already calling Mr P my stepdad so this was just a good reason to party to me! LOL  We surprised my mom with a fabulous "He Put A Ring On It" bridal shower. She had NO IDEA we were putting this together for her which made it even better. She smiled that entire day and that made every second of the planning process worth it.                          ...

First And Last

This is the first post I have written this year and probably will be my last for awhile. Here's why: I HAVE A NEW JOB!! :-) My new job is wonderful (so far...its only been four days! LOL) and I am learning a lot of information because I am in a higher position than I am used to and its a new company for me. So, a big chunk of my life is revolving around this new place right now. I want to give my all and maintain my high spirits & positivity so that I dont have a repeat of that last job (see: And Then The Bottom Fell Out...). I am determined to succeed here and advance as much as possible. Well, at least until my rich husband comes along to sweep me off my feet and into the life of a Real Housewife. Also, I am still working on my Masters. Things got a little tough for a bit there but I pushed through it. Im still pushing through! I have a semester or two left before I will add Masters degree to my list of accomplishments. *pats self on back* On top of that, I am helping...

Yesterday was a bit foggy...

Guess what happened to me yesterday morning? I passed out. Literally. Here's the story: I woke up at 7:45 to get my godson Rory ready for school. He popped up when I did & asked me to turn on cartoons (oh to be young and easily satisfied by talking animals on the television so early in the morning). I said okay and told him to stay in bed & watch cartoons while I brush my teeth. I looked for the remote in my covers, but found it on the floor. Dont ask how it got there because I dont know. Anyway, I got up, leaned over to get it and felt dizzy. I thought I had just moved too fast, so I sat back down for a sec. When I got up again, I felt dizzy, lost my balance & fell back on my bed. On the way down, I knocked over my personal fan and small trash can. Yeah, it wasnt a cute fall at all. I was scared so I just stayed there for awhile. My godson was like "Whats wrong Nanny?" I couldnt give him an honest answer because frankly, I didnt know. And at the tender age ...

150 Days Later: Life After LSU

150 days ago, I received my Bachelors of Science in Apparel Merchandising from LSU. Seems like just yesterday I was sashaying across the stage (yes, I sashayed. It was my day and that stage was my runway) to receive my degree. The crowd erupted into thunderous applause as my former Historic Costume professor announced my name. Ok, so it wasn't the whole crowd. More like the twenty or so members of my family that showed up, but trust me, there was an eruption of applause. Watch the video for proof.                                                        LSU TAM CLASS OF 2012 What has happened in the 150 days since? Well, my previous post discussed the more negative aspects of the last 150 days. Now, I'll share all of...
